January OMG

Well welcome 2018!  I thought I would start the year off right and link up to the one monthly goal.  After a difficult 2017, I'm ready to reset and start again.  Like always there are many projects I could pick to focus on for the month, but I'm going to pick a fairly easy project for January.

Most of you will know that my aunt passed away a week before Christmas.   I will have to make several trips to Toronto this month to help my sister wind up my aunts affairs and empty her apartment.  Sewing and quilting time will be limited.   I'm aiming to get my Triangle Transparency Quilt top finished in time to link up with the party at Quilting Jet Girl.  Here's the one block I have finished so far.

It's freezing up here in Canada with the Polar Vortex bringing us cold air from Siberia. I'm hoping that these beautiful tropical colours can help to keep me warm.  I'm linking up with Patty at Elm Creek Quilts now and hopefully later in the month as well.

I'm so sorry about your aunt, Lisa. I hope getting her affairs in order goes smoothly. Your Wayward block is just beautiful. It's so cold here today I just want to sit next to that block (indoors) with a hot cup of coffee! We are having quite the cold snap here too. Stay warm!

I am so sorry to hear about your aunt's passing. You were a good niece to her time of need. I always like working with warm and bright fabrics in January especially now with the cold weather we're having. Hope all goes well with taking care of your aunt's affair.

Oh Lisa, my condolences for the loss of your aunt. Having followed along with your blog and IG account, I know how much you were invested in keeping her comfortable, safe and in good health and spirit. I hope you and your sister, as well as, everyone else in your family affected by her passsing, has friends and family to lean and rely on if and when you need them. I am sending warm thoughts from Berlin. Kind regards. K.

I am sorry to hear about your aunt. I really like how we picked the same colors for the Wayward. I like your transition from yellow to red. My orange is a cross-weave so it is thin like tissue paper and a real pain to sew with the other more substantial solids.

Beautiful warm colors are definitely a welcome right now with the temperatures so low. Can't wait to see what layout you end up using. So many great ones to choose from.

I think the colors in the quilt could warm all of North America! It's been pretty cold here in Colorado as well. So sorry about your Aunt, I hope you and your sister can spend some time remembering all the things you loved about her.

That's a perfect color vibe to warm yourself mentally during the month and infuse energy into your spirits as you help tackle the sad tasks of a loved one's passing. I'm sure your sister greatly appreciates your traveling and helping. Hugs!
