The Rainbow Rose Moves Along

September has arrived with it's normal busyness and I've been feeling a bit stretched.  It's been hard to find enough time for quilting and blogging but I did manage to carve out some time on the weekend to work on the quilting for my Rainbow Rose.     Here's a teaser photo.

I always put off quilting quilts because I'm still fairly new to the actual quilting part of making quilts and I get cold feet.  I have to credit Lena of Quilt Art for giving me the push I needed to get going.  She made a comment in a previous post that very nicely encouraged me to get on with it.

I've been using the quilt to practise both walking foot quilting and free motion.  I expect to have a finish by Friday and I'm pretty exited about that.  I'm linking up with Beth at Main Crush Monday because in terms of quilts this has really been my Main Crush this week.

I struggle most with the actual quilting part of the process too so I'm cheering you on from the sideline! The teaser is looking beautiful and I can't wait to see the whole finish.

The teaser picture shows beautiful quilting. You shouldn't have cold feet about quilting. None of us got it right in the first few miles lol. You are doing great! ;^)

It's a great quilt for practicing some dot to dot quilting, and I will definitely be excited to see your finish. :)

I definitely see some dot-to-dot quilting there. I can understand the pressure of quilting - you put in all that work in the piecing of a project, and don't want to chance "ruining" it with the quilting, but I promise you - you won't! Once I got over the fear of ruining a quilt, I realized that once a project is finished, it's still a good feeling. And if it's a project that gets washed, so much of it softens up and everything looks great. Can't wait to see the rest of the quilting.
