One Main Goal for February

I'll definitely be finishing up my Mighnight Mystery top this month and working some more on my Graduated Cross quilt but I think I'll chose quilting this  Modern Shoe Fly quilt for my Main Goal for February.

According to my daughter she's been waiting for me to quilt this for her for three years.  This could be true.  The pattern by Alexandra Ledgerwood is from the Spring 2012 Stitch Magazine.  The original quilt had amazing feathered quilting on it and I was pretty intimidated by the thought of quilting it, so it's been sitting in the WIP pile for a while.

The ridiculous thing is that my daughter really doesn't care what the quilting is like.  She just wants me to finish it.  So that's what I'm going to do, hopefully by the end of the month.
I'm linking to OMG at Heidi's blog  Red Letter Quilts and to Let's Bee Social at Lorna's blog Sew Fresh Quilts.

I hear you on wanting the very best quilting on our flimsies. I found I wasn't all that great with pantos and free motion so went the computer driven way. Hum, much nicer quilts coming out now. I did figure out that every little bobble shows when you are only looking at 10" of quilting. When you step back and look at the whole thing all of a sudden the quilt looks fine, if not great. Good luck with your goal.

I think that making it your goal (on top of your daughter's obvious requests) will help you see this through to a finish! :)

Go Lisa! You can do it! It will be gorgeous! And just look at the colors? No wonder your daughter wants to finally have it on her sofa. =)

Well, my take is that this is a pretty modern quilt so it calls for modern quilting - i.e. simple! You can definitely get this baby to bed this month! It's a really fun pattern, isn't it? I've also admired it for a while - it will be nice to see it finished.

Such lovely shoo fly's! I've doodled them a little lately, what a coincidence to see them on your blog today. :) I'm sure you'll do wonderful quilting this and your daughter will be thrilled when it is done!

I think this is a great goal for the month. You did such a great job on Pick Up Sticks, keep the FMQ ball rolling. Can't wait to see the finish, you've got this.

It's pretty neat to think how many of us are finishing up our Midnight Mysteries this month. Quilting Modern Shoe Fly is a great goal for the month and I wish you much success Lisa!
