However, your block is far from untidy: the lines are clear, and the wonkiness gives it dynamism and charm. I need to be as brave as you!Marlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13395982229464502358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022341937749717549.post-50831618724057211252016-05-26T10:10:11.234-07:002016-05-26T10:10:11.234-07:00The three colors you have chosen go so well with y...The three colors you have chosen go so well with your blog title! Good luck on finishing on time. Every time I am at a rush at the end I vow to not enter unfinished items (though of course doing a challenge requires a new start--then I vow to start sooner.)claire aka knitnkwilt.wordpress.comClairehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05981369630696737026noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022341937749717549.post-73822132432071452112016-05-25T21:00:09.837-07:002016-05-25T21:00:09.837-07:00It is hard to cut straight with scissors anymore. ...It is hard to cut straight with scissors anymore. I must have done it before rotary tools. Sue is right; the more you practice, the better you become. I like your color choices and hope it is finished in time for your show. I've found that the more improv work I do, the straighter my lines get, with both scissors and the rotary cutter...so keep practicing!Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07064704260223262652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022341937749717549.post-87242344739738703232016-05-25T07:31:18.679-07:002016-05-25T07:31:18.679-07:00This is a timely post Lisa, I am starting score 1 ...This is a timely post Lisa, I am starting score 1 this week and I realise it's not as easy as I first thought. Great contrast in your fabrics, very brave. Have you considered using your rotary cutter? It's allowed as long as you don't use a ruler. I plan to do several blocks of whatever size they end up using the fabrics from my pull to represent Bluebell Woods. I'm expecting it to turn out either great, or a dogs dinner, who knows, so I'm just going to enjoy it.Kate @ Smiles From Katehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17525561534884021883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9022341937749717549.post-5270936008479016202016-05-25T06:56:40.413-07:002016-05-25T06:56:40.413-07:00I can't cut a straight line with scissors! I don't use a ruler much so if I want to be straightish I use one of the lines on my cutting mat: I start at the bottom and cut upwards, keep my eye on where the line is at the top. I like your colours - very clean and modern. Also love that pattern with the flying geese.
